Club Roles and Responsibilities
Club Coach -
- Organize and control training sessions that assist player development and ensure that all players have the opportunity to reach their maximum potential.
- Provide leadership and set and monitor training standards and expectations.
Club Captains -
- Match day organization of team.
- Provide on and off field leadership and expectations.
- Develop and implement game day tactics.
- Develop a winning culture and be responsible for team and individual behavior.
- Be responsible for laying of covers for game and providing accurate game reports and appointing scorers
Club Vice Captains –
- Provide leadership and assistance to the captain in both on and off field matters.
- Provide appropriate advice to the captain on game day tactics.
- Collect and submit to committee all match day payments.
Selection Committee –
- Select 3 sides based on form, attitude and application. Provide feedback where required on selection decisions.
Scorer –
- Provide accurate and complete scoresheets and associated match reports.
Club Committee
President - Mark - Chair Meetings, Annual Report to Associations. Act as a spokesperson for the Club.
- Delegate to the Association Committee
- Represent the Club at meetings of the Association Committee
- Lead and manage the activities of the Committee, Exec, Cricket Operations, Old Players/Supporters, Sponsorship/Publicity Committees
- Communicate and seek coordination/agreement among committee and members
- Act as advocate for the Derwent Cricket Club
Vice President - Warren - Represent the Club in the absence of the President in all activities
- Lead and manage the Canteen activities
- Participate as a member of the Exec, Cricket Operations, Sponsorship and lead in the absence of the President
- Participate as a member of the Old Players/Supporters and Cricket Operations Committee
Secretary - Mick - Keep minutes of Meetings, distribute to committee members within 14 days, Minutes to include Action items/Date/Whom
- Arrange Meetings, prepare and distribute agenda's
- Duties as required by the Chairperson
- keep record of correspondence both in and out
- Submit Captains reports and score sheets to the TCA
- Responsibility for the maintenance and development of the club web site
- Participate as a member of the exec
Treasurer - Kim - Keep records of transactions; provide a monthly & annual report for the committee, preparation of budget and other prescribed governance responsibilities
- Participate as a member of the exec
- Responsible for depositing monies into Bank Account.
Committee - Duffers - Participate as a member of the Old Players/Supporters Committee
Players –
- Responsible for following standards and expectations of the club, its coach and captains.
- Have fun, enjoy your cricket and have a desire to better yourself and your team.
- Participate and assist in organised club social activities.
- Ensure coach, captains have knowledge of your match and training availability.
- Know which team, ground and time you are to be at for games.
- Make yourself available to help with covers when possible and other club tasks as required.
Training
- Tuesday and Thursday Nights
- 5.15pm onwards
- Clare St Oval
Training Expectations
- Attendance once per week and a minimum of 20 training sessions throughout the season.
- Sign yourself in attendance in the training register book.
- In case of bad weather contact either the coach or captains to determine training details or a note will be left at Clare St Oval advising people of training details.
Selections
- Will be made and announced at the Maypole Hotel every Thursday night prior to game days.
Web Site
Subs and Match Fees:
- $50 subs due
- $10 per game payable on match day
- $25 Club Cap
Player Payments
- Available to all players this season to encourage performance, attitude and attendance at training.
- Points towards player payment will only begin upon full payment of season registration payment - $40 Pre Xmas
Structure
- $1 per run minimum of 300 runs
- $15 per wicket minimum of 20 wickets
Less
- $10 per attendance less than the required minimum of 20 attendances
- $10 for not attending training at lease once per week.

Disciplinary Panel
- Shall be formed to hear any issue arising from poor conduct contrary to the values and standards of the Derwent Cricket Club that occurs during any club activity.
- The panel shall uphold the club standards and implement any punishment deemed reasonable, this may be in addition to any penalty handed out by the STCL.
- The panel shall meet no later than 14 days after the alleged incident and shall include

Derwent Cricket Club
- The Derwent Cricket Club is Tasmania’s oldest surviving cricket club with records dating back to 1825.
- The DCC ground is Clare St Oval in New Town, training is every Tuesday and Thursday nights commencing at 5.15.
- The DCC is an incorporated body and is a member of the Southern Tasmania Cricket League (STCL) and is affiliated with the Tasmania Cricket Association (TCA).
Vision
- To be the best cricket club in Tasmania on and off field outside of the TCA.

- Provide & promote the game of cricket to its members and the broader community as a healthy and fun activity.
